Sugaring & Periods: What’s the Deal?
Periods are intimate. Bikini sugaring is intimate. + sometimes scheduling doesn’t line up. We get it! Because we regularly get questions from our clients about the two, so we wanted to give you the rundown. We answered some FAQs about everything sugaring and period-related.
Can I get Brazilian sugared on my period?
Yes! You can definitely get Brazilian sugared on your period, we recommend using a tampon or a menstrual cup. If you’re using a tampon, make sure the string is tucked in. Trust us, you’ll want it to keep it at bay.
Cool, but SHOULD I get sugared on my period? Does it change the experience?
Sort of. It does change the experience because your body is more sensitive during your period. Any kind of sugaring might be a little more painful (but still totally doable.) If you are are using a tampon and don’t have the string tucked in, moving it around can get tricky.
Ideally, when in my cycle should I get sugared?
The best time in your cycle to get sugared is whenever it works best for you. You should plan sugaring around your life, not the other way around. We are happy to sugar you any day of the week, at any time of the month.
Should I let my Sugarist know that I’m on my period?
Your comfort is our top priority. If you want to let your Sugarist know, you definitely can, but it’s completely up to you. Either way, we’ve got you covered!
Will my Sugarist be cool with it if I’m on my period?
ABSOLUTELY. Sugaring is what we do, and our Sugarists are thoroughly trained and professional.
If you have any more questions, you can always feel free to ask your Sugarist, message us on social media. We are here for any and all of your sugaring needs!
So, what should I do before my appointment?
Before your appointment, some things to consider are showering, using the wipes (provided) when you arrive (to freshen up), and take ibuprofen if it’s safe to do so.
